What is the role and technique of a chiropractor?

Chiropractors perform a wide variety of techniques.

These include:

Manual adjustments – a high velocity low amplitude thrust applied to joints within the body by hand.

Blocking techniques: A low force technique, using 2 padded wedges to help shift patient’s pelvis back into an ideal state.

Drop piece technique: Another lower force technique, this involves multiple movable pieces on the chiropractic table, to help take the load of a manual thrust through joints in the body.

Activator technique: Also another lower force technique, but more specific. Involves the use of a hand held tool onto specific joints in the spine to help promote healthy and normal movement and function. Simulates that of a manual adjustment, at a lower force.
